Her barium for sale.
A valuable collectiou of herbs is offered for sale,
beivg the result of the lab-urs of Ruiström, Med:-
cinal-RBath, Stenhammar, Doctor Prof. in bota-
nicks, and Ol. Carling, Prof. Member of the
Royal Rural Academy at tockbolm. Besides the
Swedish plants, the collection of which is nearly
complete, there are. amorg those collecteå by Rut-
ström, many valuable species received from the lear-
ned Wir. Vabl, editor of Flora Danica, and col-
lected by himself during bis travels trough Fin-
land, Germany and Holland. There are also some
species upon which Linnes own handwriting still
remains. It consist further of a precious series of
herbs from East-India and Africa, collected by
Thunberg, F par: man, Selander etc.; from West-In-
dia, by Euphrasen, Osbeck, Ol Swartz etc.; from
Westphalia by Schlechtendal; from New-Zeeland,
by Lindbe:g; from Swizerland, by Schleicher; from
G-rmany in general, by Link and Reichenbach;
from America, by Torrez; from the Levant, by
Berggren and Hedenborg; frem Russia, by Heden-
borg and Heinmann. Linnt, Willdenow and Spren-
sel are generally followed as to the arrangem nt,
tho there is a part as yet not arrang.d. The
whole is in good condition, and the plants ean ea-
sily be eken out for examination, and replaced
This Herharium contains about nize thousand spe-
cies, besides a quantity of supernumeraries, and,
as to its worth, the opinion of Bishop Agardh (for-
merly Professor in Botanicks at the Royal Univer-
sity of Lund) is humbly referred to. Eighty pounds
